Allowing the Water Production System to Switch Based on Energy Conditions

Colin Pawson of Enertec was responsible for integrating the solar panels, battery bank, diesel generator, and desalination system. The system prioritizes renewable energy and switches to batteries or a diesel generator when conditions change, preventing interruptions in drinking water supply due to a single energy source.

SPECTRA's low-power water production technology allows higher-output desalination to be driven by solar energy, reducing the island nation's long-term reliance on diesel and mitigating the impact of fuel prices and shipping disruptions on water supply.
