Indonesian Police Force Expands "BRIMOB" Drinking Water Vehicle Scope
Following the successful launch of BRIMOB trucks equipped with Spectra LB-2800 in 2020, the Indonesian police force has now launched an off-road version of the drinking water vehicle.
This off-road vehicle is based on the Isuzu Dmax single-cab model and is equipped with a 2500CC engine.
Its water treatment system includes 120 and 50 micron pre-filters, activated carbon filters, water softeners, Spectra LB-1800 desalination equipment, and a final ultraviolet sterilization and disinfection process for water supply.
The vehicle can flexibly handle a variety of water sources such as fresh water, brackish water or sea water, with a maximum water production capacity of 280 liters per hour, or 6,800 liters per day.
Compared to larger trucks (pictured below/right), which are mainly used in urban areas, the off-road version is mainly targeted at remote villages with difficult traffic and narrow roads.
BRIMOB is currently deploying:
- 18 trucks equipped with Katadyn-Spectra LB-2800 desalination equipment
- Deployed in 9 provinces in Indonesia, including Sumatra, Java and Central Sulawesi.
The goal is to deploy 2 to 4 drinking water vehicles in each of Indonesia's 38 provinces.
The latest additions are four off-road pickup trucks equipped with Spectra LB-1800 .
During the recent floods in Sumatra, less than 3 hours after the crisis began, a BRIMOB truck equipped with a Katadyn-Spectra LB-2800 immediately started providing safe drinking water, producing 440 liters per hour, near Pariaman/Padang. Safe drinking water is provided to 5,000 residents.
