Fiji Eco Resort Adopts SPECTRA LB-2800 | Solar Powered Mobile Water Solution

An eco-diving resort on Namena Island, Fiji, needed a freshwater solution that could run on solar power and be evacuated before adverse weather arrived.

SPECTRA integrated the LB-2800, pre-treatment, chlorination, and filtered water distribution system into an enclosed trailer approximately 1.5 × 2.4 meters, allowing the water-making equipment to be moved according to the island's environment.

The water-making system includes more than just the reverse osmosis unit. This trailer also integrates media filtration, chlorination, and filtered water distribution systems, allowing seawater to be managed within the same framework from entry into the equipment to storage and use.

Automatic Operation when Solar Power is Sufficient

The customized control panel automatically starts water production when the solar panels output sufficient power, aligning energy production with freshwater production. This design reduces reliance on a fixed grid and fuel, and also makes daily operation easier to integrate into resort management processes.

When typhoons or other severe weather approach, the trailer can be quickly disconnected from the water source and moved to a safer location, preventing critical equipment from being exposed to prolonged wind, waves, and flood risks.
